New Business
Discussion: We have our own grader & we noticed that the gravel disappears as fast as it is put on. We need to put some attention on the ditches & culverts & cutting a line into the bank to divert water.
We are having difficulty in getting the telephone company to mark phone lines so that we do not tear them up. Members suggestions to have property owners call as needed for road repairs-as telephone company needs an exact address.
Culverts & Road Configuration @ approximate cost of materials $21000 for Antelope Lane plus the cost of installation.
Grader repairs needed-Rough estimate for Grader Repairs & future repairs @ approximately $35000 Plus the cost of new batteries plus $2000 for 4 rear tires.
Motion to have Pat Long haul the grader to Dirks Truck & Equipment Repair for grader evaluation for better estimate of repairs, motion by Leslie Thomas, 2nd by Tom Culp, all approved
We talked about contracting out road grading while waiting for grader repairs-Pat Long has given us a bid to do 1 pass at approximately $6000 year.
Scott Butz has given PTRIA a bid for $5000 per year with a 5 yr contract.
Motion to get several estimates for the grading, gravel where needed, & drainage swales from 3 professionals if possible, by Ann Erickson, Ashely Stone 2nd, motion passed.
Road grading estimate suggestions: Pat Long & Chris Downare 719-269-8289.
Suggestions from members
Use plastic pipe instead of steel culverts to help cut costs, work well & don’t rust.
Discussion about doing grader repairs over 3 years if possible.
People questioned how the roads were maintained in the past without the culverts?
Cutting a line into the bank to divert water to low areas where needed..
Can we build up the roads with the gravel that is currently piled on the side of the roads?
People would like to see a map of the areas where the culverts are needed-maybe on website? People would like to have emails & website postings on grader repairs, culvert costs, grading estimates, and to have another meeting for voting on high cost items.
Suggestion to have Pat Long grade the roads this year & repair the grader for future. Contact the homeowners where cutting in needs to be done if PTRIA needs to access their land.
Leslie Thomas said she would be happy to continue to maintain the roads on Deer Lane as she has done in the past.
For County Road 88 grading please call 719-836-4201- Park County Roads.
Please keep your speed down to 30 MPH to help extend the life of PTRIA roads & keep our costs down.
