We again reviewed the culvert list needed & looked at the map for the culverts needed.
We had a discussion of the value of our grader-Champion 715 serial #1298-2.
We decided we need to get some expert advice on what the grader is worth.
We discussed whether or not it’s better to sell the grader & hire out road maintenance or to fix the grader of its many issues & keep it.
Terry is going to check with Dirks Trucks & equipment repair in Penrose about an estimate of what the grader is worth. Dirks could also give us an estimate of repairs for the grader- brakes, electrical problems, gauges, hydraulics, leaking oil, etc.
Jon will see what the costs from Pat Long are to transport the grader to Dirks if we decide to get repair estimates. Jon is also going to get estimates on cost of a yearly road maintenance agreement.
We decided to postpone selling the grader at this point, until we find out repair costs and the value of the grader.
We also discussed possibly doing some of the most necessary culverts & save some of the repairs for a later point so we have some money for repairs on the grader.
We will meet again Aug 30 wed about 1:30 at Terrys again, after getting some more info on the grader, so we can discuss this at the general meeting Sept 2.
Since the entire membership had a say in the purchase of the grader, we thought the same should be true for any retaining or sale of the grader. We will discuss this at the general meeting on Sept 2.
