Old Business:
1) Since our last meeting, we added Terrence Johnson’s name on bank legal info & we removed board members who are no longer on the board.
2) We discuss finances to cover the culvert work that is needed, reviewing the culvert replacement list of culverts needed on Pike Trails roads. The problem with culverts is that they are not large enough to handle the water, many culverts are in the wrong place, many are not placed deep enough. We will start replacing steel culverts on a main road-Antelope Lane at this point, then move to other roads. It is an expensive endeavor. We discussed spending less on gravel in order to pay for culverts. A road easement is supposed to be 34 feet on each side of the road centerline. some of the fences are actually at the roads, which makes it difficult for grading. Main roads are approximately 25’ wide.
Scott Butz @ Rock Movers Excavating estimated that we are going to need $20,000 to cover culvert materials (@ contractor’s price) & 16 hours of work estimated @ $120 hr.
Motion to hire Scott Butz to install the new culverts as discussed, Mike Bandera motioned, George Purnell 2nd it, all approved.
Bill Jones & George Purnell volunteered to help with traffic control during culvert installation.
3) We talked about putting up speed limit signs on our roads so our roads stay in better shape with slower speeds, Scott Butz getting cost estimates on signs.
New Business: We discussed grader maintenance needed-grader brakes, electrical problems, gauges, hydraulics, leaking oil, etc. Our grader is very old, bought used by Pike Trails over 20 years ago. We discussed selling the grader & hiring yearly road maintenance for Pike Trails. We will meet again after some investigation on how much the grader is worth.
Treasurers report reviewed, motion to accept-Terrence Johnson, 2nd George Purnell, all approved.
Motion to adjourn meeting by Terrence Johnson, 2nd -Mike Bandera, all approved.
