LOOSE CATTLE INFORMATION

Colorado is a “fence-out” state. It is your responsibility to fence cattle out of your property if you want to keep them out. Without a “lawful” fence, the landowner has no civil recourse for damage done to their property by trespassing livestock. For information about Open Range & Fencing in Colorado, including the definition of a “lawful” fence:

If you’d like to know whose cattle is loose in Pike Trails Ranches, please call the Brand Inspector, South Central-Canon City District.

Please call our local Brand Inspector, Colby Stone at 719-426-8231 if you have questions.
